It is hard to develop an anti-Romney to appeal to conservatives because there is no individual in the race that conservatives, as a group, prefer to Romney. There is no coherant conservative block.

Watching as much of the debate as I could stand, I thought Huntsman might be the most electable of the R's, but with his low standing, maybe his skeletons haven't been dredged out by the MSM.

(8,556 posts)Everyone except for Romney is the anti-Romney. But they all think they can be the last anti-Romney left standing, so they are duking it out among themselves. It's actually quite beneficial to the Mittster for this to continue.

Many newt votters prefer romney to santorum. Many santorum voters prefer romney to newt. And both prefer romeny to paul.
