Is Trump looking to cut a deal?

Pardons and threats to scuttle Covid relief just demonstrations of the damage he can cause without a deal. He's scared and wants a deal not to be criminally prosecuted post presidency?
Can a deal be constructed, should a deal be offered? What could it look like, who would sign on?

Not sure if he is looking for immunity from prosecution or if he is still aiming to use the threat of veto to stay in office and overthrow the election. In Trumps mind he is likely looking for both.

He would ask for:

- very large sum of money
-permanent immunity for himself and spawn for all crimes, past, present, future.
-Probably crazy stuff, like face on Mt Rushmore, etc.

I always thought he was going to angle for a deal.

But he never did, and yes it is too late now.
However he lives in his own fantasy world now, so who knows what he will do.

Too many crimes, too many jurisdictions...

Pence is going to stay scarce for a month. He remembers what happened to a better VP (Ford) when he pardoned his crook boss.

The COVID relief bill was passed by a veto-proof margin. Congress will just override it. As for the pardons, everyone has been expecting him to pull this kind of garbage. He is creating chaos, because that's what he does.

He wants to distinguish himself from those like McConnell. I think he wants to really put the old establishment Republicans in a very tough spot.

He's liable to sell secrets or materials that could hurt us as a nation. Seems like he's trying to sabotage Biden's presidency? If he wants a deal to avoid prosecution, he's holding some big cards.

But can we afford that as a nation?

And no pardons for anyone else.

Before the election, a deal, maybe. After his open, and continuing, attack on our Democracy not just no, but hell no. We have to send a message to future potential despots.

Citizen Trump will need to face the same justice system that the rest of us would have to face.

It looks like it is just going to have to play out. I don’t think a Nixon pardon would solve anything. The GOP made this mess.
