GoDaddy Employees Were Told They Were Getting a Holiday Bonus. It Was Actually a Phishing Test.

I know phishing is a serious issue, but in this economy, that sounds terribly cruel, unless they’re really giving their employees that bonus. And that seems unlikely, if they recently laid employees off, as the article suggests.

Phishing is certainly a real thing, I will not challenge that. Wednesday, I had a phishing attempt on my work e-mail. They are pretty clumsy things; this one claimed to be from a bank I've never done business with. To tease your employees with a test like this is a rotten thing to do during the holiday season. Ebenezer Scrooge territory.
