Tim Tebow hesitant to endorse

Tim Tebow hesitant to endorse

Republican presidential candidates seeking Tim Tebow’s endorsement are out of luck, at least for now. The Denver Broncos quarterback, who’s an outspoken conservative Christian, is hesitant to officially endorse anyone, the AP reports:
http://www.politico.com/blogs/click/2012/01/tim-tebow-hesitant-to-endorse-110306.html

Go with Newt, Tebow. His head looks more footballish than the heads of the other candidates.

anyone who bases their vote on what a football player thinks is seriously deficient in critical thinking skills. Next up: waiting on the all important Kim Kardashian endorsement.

It's ever so important for everyone to realize that God makes him an on field winner...isn't that what the bowing is all about? An outward show that God has blessed him above the other players on the field? Winning and making great plays outshines death, disease and dispair...it's all good PR for god.

What would happen to the faith of millions of godly inspired football enthusiasts if Tebow got the candidate wrong?

mom who is praying really hard for her child who is dying of cancer just isn't doing it right if her child dies.

I find it mind boggling that anyone including Tim Tebow believes that there is some being out there who really gives a shit about who wins a damn football game. I have serious problems with any Supreme Being that listens to the prayers of a football player over those of a starving nation.

faith IMHO. To me, faith is about the big picture. It's not about believing in a god that micromanages the universe to the extent some fundamentalist Christians do.

I had a friend years ago who was an evangelical Baptist. I was visiting her one day and she was going through her closet getting rid of stuff she didn't wear. She had a pair of brown high heeled sandals that fit me perfectly. So she gives them to me saying "God knew you were looking for shoes." That's the level of micro managing she attributed to God. Years laster she died of a particularly nasty cancer. I'm sure she managed to rationalize a reason why God let her suffer so but to me, I just don't get it.

No. You have things a tad reversed. When Tebow accomplished "great things" it is because God gave him gifts that allowed him to do so. He is acknowledging that God granted him the gifts, and that the glory is Gods, the bestower. Really, it's not all that different than when he thanks his mom, or his coach, or even his offensive line. Others enabled him to be there and do that at that moment. It isn't a suggestion that "God chose him to win". God granted everyone gifts, and it is up to them to choose how to use them and then use them, and in a team sense to use them in concert. In the end the team which uses their gifts most effectively, and appropriately will win.

Actors receiving awards thank parents, teachers, agents, other actors, directors, etc.

Now, one can quote some verses from the bible which might suggest he is picking the wrong moment to be doing all this thanking.....

Just because he might be outspoken on his religious beliefs doesn't necessarily mean the guy wants to enter the arena of endorsing political figures. I think he should be more worried about the Patriots defense at this point in time.

My guess is he probably would favor a Republican candidate over a Democratic one, but who knows. Unless the guy wants to talk about who he likes, why try to pry it out of him?

Not for political reasons but because I do live in CT and my husband is a huge Pats fan.
I could really care less about his politics. There are more immature idiotic football players out there who conduct themselves with a lot less class then Tebow does. I hate his views on abortion but as long as he stays out of politics I could care less what his religious views are.

....no doubt he's going down in the AFC Championship game.

I have to admit I do admire him, nothing to do with religion but I just like seeing a guy prove all the football pundits wrong. And to be honest, there are a lot worse self righteous, hypocritical "Christians" out there than Tebow....Robertson, Falwell, I'm looking at you...

'cause he sure as hell won't be hesitant to endorse whichever repuke gets the nomination. And Colorado is a key swing state.

As for Newt, he was rebuffed in his attempt to play junior high football. Because they couldn't find a helmet big enough to go over his head. Seriesly.
