I threw this up on my Facebook page because I was seeing so much of it from "friends".
BLM protests were about ending systemic racism in society at large but more specifically within the wielding of the of America's law enforcement. Meanwhile the MAGA raid on the US capitol was about overthrowing the United States government because the person these idiots voted for lost bigly and they got the sads. There is nothing comparable between the two. Systemic racism is real and fighting against it is a noble cause. Trump's bullshit fantasy that he can name himself dictator is a mental delusion. Fighting for it is an act of un-American evil. Nothing can make these people's actions righteous or noble because at the base is a lie. Any whataboutism is bullshit. As an added bonus there is the fact that most of these people are known by name now yet are still freely walking around society which pretty much proves the whole premise of the BLM movement.
This isn't about "the violence". They tried to delusionally overthrown the US government and install Trump as a dictator. The two movements or basically any civil rights movement of the past hundred years has no relation to this event and should not be discussed together in the same thought. It's just not the same thing. It isn't.

(1,345 posts)it works great on talk radio, but when people get tried in court, or during impeachment, saying "but BLM" won't help them.
It's a debate tactic meant to muddy the waters and distract when you can't justify a position or action. However, rarely does it have any solid point beyond that. It works on those not interested in thinking things through. In this case, it's just so so annoying and tired. In court, it will have no merit.
