A good chunk of the population is quite poor. He will vote for it.

If he says he's voting now, there is a Republican voting yes.

We better get used to it -- as far as his constituents are concerned, this is what they expect. I don't see it as a huge issue as long as the outcome is not in question.

If and when he's the deciding vote on an issue, he needs to vote the Democratic position. Not saying he will for certain, but votes like this allow him some, shall we say, leeway with his constituents. We're better with this voting pattern than the alternative, which is 0% with the Dems.

People need relief right now so maybe it has to be thin, but dang. I’m sure they’ll have other stuff ready to go and will add.

Reconciliation can only be used once a year. I have to think that the GOP realizes that they are on the wrong side of public opinion on this one and that it would be damaging for them to object too hard.

I'll never assume that they'll ever do the right thing for the right reason, but if the political blowback is what gets them to 60 votes, that's fine by me.

I think the political game is cover for the senators in name only democrat by having a republican that can easily win no matter the vote.

I have a strong feeling that we will see many votes where we get 1 or 2 republicans to cover for the guy from West Virginia.
