Dear Republicans who want to call off impeachment in the name of unity

First I'd like to say I'm glad to hear you say you want unity. We do too! So that's great.

Just one problem...

You would like us to unite around the idea that inciting people to storm and vandalize the Capitol and threaten the lives of elected officials in an effort to violently overturn a legal election -- an incident which caused the deaths of five people, one of whom was a cop who was beaten to death -- is something not worth worrying about. We should turn a blind eye to that kind of thing and say, never mind.

Whereas we would like you to unite around the idea that such behavior is appalling, immoral, dangerous, un-American, and criminal, and should be punished.

Seems like we can only unite around one of these ideas, so which one is it going to be?

Do they think that our memories and attention spans are that short?

In the spirit of Unity, they could join us and demand that Trump be impeached for criminal activity.

Where was unity when they continued to pursue their frivolous objections to the election AFTER the insurrection?

Lets just give him a grand retirement package and send him on his way. (if we make it through the next ten days)

The Republicans won't be able to protect him for much longer. You have to wonder if some have been so loyal because he has something on them. If he ever has a chance to help himself by implicating others he will squeal like a pig.

to their knees and beg for forgiveness and apologize for the rancid behavior especially the complete obstruction of President Obama and the blind support of a compulsive liar and Russian supporter trump. Then only by your action in 2021 and beyond will we consider working together. But we know that won't happen.
