I guess Facebook can finally die now that they pissed democrats off months/years ago and the Trumpers now.

(4,846 posts)It's always too complicated for them to figure it out. It's sad that they just connected with their friends in our home country a few months ago (without communications for over 10 years). I don't get why they would leave a social media site when they have long time friends on there. I didn't do it when democrats were calling for deletion.

(6,376 posts)When I was a kid (wayyy back in the day) my parents always wanted me to work out how to do things before they would help. "Look it up" was the mantra.
Of course your situation is different and I'm sorry to give such a flip answer.

(4,846 posts)Deleting their accounts isn't a problem for me. I am just saying that republicans are leaving social media because of Trump, or at least my parents.

It is not hard at all to curate your experience on any social media, including here.

(4,846 posts)It's one of the very few Asian cities that has more support for Trump than Biden (both didn't get more than 30% support). But they just want western democracy so they equate Trump to that not knowing what Trumpism truly is.

(12,648 posts)But are they getting their picture of current American life from mainstream sources or from radical right ones?
I just linked up in my mind what you said - with tRumps recent attempts to place his lackeys in jobs at VOA.

(4,846 posts)Afterall, it is the place where some of the disinformation about Hunter came from. There is a lot of rumors in Hong Kong back then that the protest last year is funded by Trump related people. So there is a sizable protesters in HK that supports Trump.
And they have very limited knowledge about how US government work. So they attributed the resistance/condemnation from the congress to Trump. We, around here on DU, says Trump's PR moves are too simplistic and lazy. But the thing is, most people don't know how things work and Trump took credit when none is his. I heard a lot of Trump giving people 2k a few weeks ago and I have to explain that he only signed for 600 that the congress passed. There is no 2k stimulus unless the congress pass it and republicans have been against that since April last year.

(4,846 posts)I had no problem with them being republicans till Trump and Trump is my hard line. Heck, I would have voted for a republican before Trump but I am likely a life-long democrat for the rest of my life now. I just don't understand how so many people can't see through Trump. There are just too many misinformation on youtube and facebook.

I don't know - does a self-deleted Facebook/Whatsapp account trash all its past posts, or does it get blocked from making new ones?
