'QAnon Shaman' arrested for storming Capitol is a Navy vet

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/533852-qanon-shaman-arrested-for-storming-capitol-is-a-navy-vet

The Arizona man who wore a horned, fur-covered headdress and face paint as he and other supporters of President Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol is a Navy veteran, according to the service.

Jacob Anthony Chansley, who also goes by Jake Angeli and is known among online conspiracy theorists and far-right internet groups as the “QAnon Shaman,” served in the Navy for two years, from September 2005 to October 2007, his service records show.

Nothing more at link, except that Military Times was the 1st to report on this. Odd, I couldn't find their story.

24. Navy Career of 'QAnon Shaman' Ended After He Refused Anthrax Vaccine

Jan 2021

Military.com | By Gina Harkins
One of the men arrested after last week's violent attack on the U.S. Capitol was kicked out of the Navy two years into his enlistment for refusing to take a required vaccine.

Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansley, a 33-year-old Navy veteran from Arizona who was arrested and charged after last week's siege at the U.S. Capitol, refused to take the anthrax vaccine while in the Navy, ending his two-year career, a Navy official confirmed to Military.com. Task and Purpose first reported the circumstances that led the Navy to boot Chansley from the ranks.

Chansley, who also goes by Jake Angeli, was arrested Saturday and charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building without lawful authority, the Department of Justice announced this weekend. Chansley was photographed among supporters of President Donald Trump who carried out a violent takeover of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. He was shirtless, wearing a horned fur headdress and red, white and blue face paint.

You're often in tight company and they don't want the whole unit coming down with shit. Plus you're often in some rather exotic and unsanitary places.

He's hanging out next to Matthew Heimbach, former "community outreach director" for the National Socialist Movement and some other dude that right-wingers said was antifa cause he was portrayed on an antifa site - of course, he was portrayed on an anti-fascist site because he was a fascist lol...

My brother was Army. I could swear remembering him having a 2 year active contract with at least that much more in the Army Reserve.

Sound right? Might be the same deal.

On edit: I have another brother that was in the Navy for around 1 year, but that was a WHOLE other can o' worms He fucked up, but didn't get a dishonorable. If I remember my dad complaining about it to him it was more of a separation. You go your way, we go ours.
