If anyone's Rep is Democratic leadership like Pelosi, Hoyer, Clyburn, etc. please call them and demand they give Katie Porter the waiver.

Follow the rules. There are other great Democratic members who will be wonderful. Rep. Porter will be effective.

then this is actually a good thing for her. Let her get experience in other committees that she can then use in future, higher level campaigns, whether Senator or whatnot.
This also lets OTHER folks get some experience on that committee, and there's nothing wrong with that.
We have to stop this idea that we only have a few superstars like her or AOC or whatnot. We have an entire team of stars.

(10,051 posts)8. My understanding is that because they lost seats in the house
they lose some seats on committees and she has been put on her first choice committee but wanted to be on two other committees as well. I understand why she cannot be on 3 committees and she got her choice.
