WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Words matter, the sheriff said, and the threatening statements a Polk County deputy allegedly made related to violence at the U.S. Capitol were enough to put him behind bars.

A visibly upset Sheriff Grady Judd called the text messages of 29-year-old Peter Heneen, a deputy of six years, "absolutely frightening." Heneen faces a second-degree felony charge of written threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism.

This is going to be a long, through process. It's going to be interesting to see just how many were involved and how many are charged. They're also picking up on similar plans through the same channels, like the Oath Keepers plot.

It's a start.

Everyone involved acted like there was nothing wrong or even unusual with breaking into the US Capitol, ransacking it, stealing stuff, killing a police officer, and injuring dozens of people.

Some of them still don't get it. Many of them have no clue that they're looking at prison time.

Their detachment from reality - in numerous ways - is pretty difficult to comprehend.

Like they were on a deviant sight seeing tour! The ones who, I believe, were diversions for the more sinister groups.

And that they were allowed to casually waltz out the doors, stay in town to celebrate for a couple of days, then fly home! Wtaf???

Imho, every one should be charged with cop's murder, qt the very least!

those jobs need to make more effort to prevent these types from getting in.

The problem is many of the shitty types are at the top. And has been this way forever.
