I had been getting the message on the IRS get my payment site that my check was scheduled to be mailed 01/06. I was expecting to get one of the EIP cards (which have a flaky reputation for getting activated) in a couple more weeks so was glad to get an actual $600 check in the mail today...Hope everyone else still waiting get theirs soon...just wanted to update my experience here in south central Kansas....I'm hoping I can update my direct deposit account for any future payments....shouldn't have to because I get SS every month by direct deposit...weird...

(34,661 posts)we ended up with one of those EIP cards. What a friggin hassle. Only a certain network of ATM's can be used. And your first with drawl is free and then you are limited to the max amount per day you are allowed to with draw. Did a bit of research, the Cards are issued out of Georgia by a firm connected to Ricketts from Nebraska and another fellow from South Dakota. Did I mention, these two guys who are hard core Rethugs are making millions of this thing. Checked the fee schedule,in network 25 cents per transaction, out of network two dollars to five dollars per transaction.
In network ATM's seem to be certain Walmarts,CVS or Walgreens in our area. What a friggin Rip Off.

You are so right about that back in GA.

(667 posts)....you already get tax refunds back to that account. The IRS doesn't link up with your SS check deposit account. The same thing happened to me.

(20,870 posts)It was in there along with his SSI and he has not filed an income tax return in years.
I file every year but I never get anything back.
I got the card too and I had a huge problem with it because it won't work if your telephone has call blocking on it!
I finally got through and transferred the entire amount to my bank acct.
To hell w/them and their card!
I would have preferred a check!
Big hassle for me!

(2,886 posts)through the ACA. I did not receive a refund and the return forms I filled out did not have a place to add direct deposit information (I guess because of no refund)...but getting the ACA health insurance requires filing so I'll have to find another form that will let me include DD info even without getting a refund...or something...Until the IRS unlocks their direct deposit updating info link....can't afford an accountant to figure this out for me...sigh....

(2,850 posts)the robot told me there was a number I could call to find out where the atm machine was that would not charge me to use the card. I was hoping I could go to the bank and deposit the $600.
I got a check last time.
