According to an interview I heard on LP TV, it was smart and calculated to invite him to perform, to be inclusive and show the other side that we want to appeal to them. Garth is a huge country music star.

Hopefully there are quite a number of them who feel more kindly disposed to president Biden as a result. Garth was gracious to accept the invitation to perform. The right could turn on him.

I don't like country music either. Years ago I first heard a song written by Livingston Taylor, titled
"I hate country music". Here's an early version from a live performance. I have a cassette of a later version that I think is better, but this is all I could find, and wanted to share.
