1. IMHO, absolute numbers are not as interesting, due to population increase

Over four years we probably add about 12 million to our population, so the increase in absolute numbers is not as impressive.

The NFL pulls this trick every year with the Super Bowl.

I'd be more interested in the percentage of people watching.

I was thinking the same thing before I posted...But then I realized in Trump's small mind he wouldn't even get that. Because the same can be said about the stock on how Obama's percentage of growth was waaay higher than Trump's, but he only concentrated on the absolute number.

and now it's about 331, so an 8 million person increase. That's 2.5%

So an increase in viewership of 4% outpaces population growth.
