(17,984 posts)Pfizer, second in 3 weeks. My Hospital Network notified me. Do you have a My Chart on line? Only certain sites. I made the appointment Wed. Got the shot Thursday.
Arm sore, but no problem, in car, took about an hour.

(6,679 posts)I live in Ohio now and the system is horrendous. The primary provider is Kroger and you have to go through their website round and round and round picking one location at a time to see if there are appointments. There doesn't seem to be any way to contact them and sign up for a waiting lists or something to get a call back or email to make an appointment. It's like trying to buy Lady Gaga tickets. They go up for a certain location, word gets out and 22 seconds later they are all sold out.
All my docs are at a health system that is not participating. I've had services at a competing system and set up a mychart there in a vain hope. Walgreens here says they will be offering the vaccine but they are not on the list yet.
Ohio is busy vaccinating teachers by working directly with the schools - no fuss no muss - and leaving residents age 80+ with limited computer skills to find someone willing to spend hours online to try and find a vaccine appointment within 200 miles. At the moment I believe the whole country is awaiting more vaccines though. I don't begrudge the teachers, I'm glad. It should be that easy for everyone.
It should be hit up the Ohio Covid site, type in address, see a list of appointments within so many miles. Pick one. Go to that providers page and set up the appointment.
I hear my home state of Kentucky isn't doing any better. It is shameful.

(25,363 posts)And they don't really check to see if you're in any of the groups. It's an honor system. They are mass events here.
I got a weird email a week ago saying that I had registered for the Covid vaccine and would receive it on Monday. I thought it was a hoax. It was not a hoax: My sister in law registered the entire extended family. They are hustlers and are the type who fight on Black Friday to get bargains.
I had my vaccine at a large stadium. More importantly, my husband got the vaccine...he's an essential worker and is in risk groups.
Also people show up at the end of shifts trying to score surplus vaccines. This evening at a mass event, 50 people showed up. The volunteers asked, "OK, do we have anybody over 90?" Ten people volunteered and shot their shots. That was it. Everyone else had to go home and start the hustle tomorrow.
This hustle tends to assure the most able bodied and the ones with the most resources (internet, multiple devices etc), get to the front of the line.
Heck, they told us that we had to wait in our cars. Well...my car was out of gas, so I parked across the street. I walked over and they took me right away. My husband waited in his truck for 1.5 hours. It's crazy!

(17,984 posts)Who lived in Lebanon has in-laws in Covington. He was telling me the same thing.
What hospital are you connected with. Premier, Miami Valley and Kettering are the 2 here.
Call your Doctors office. They can give you a number to call.
Are you connected with a Cincinnati Hospital? They should be able to give you a hotline number.
I was telling everyone at the YPoll this morning. Let us know. Hamilton Nursing Homes gave them last week.
DeWine has really flubbed up on this one. There is no State organization. I made my appointment on My Chart. They have Antrim in Middletown. Call your hospital, they are the ones arranging appointments.

(6,457 posts)I just hope and pray they do not run out of vaccine before my second shot. The only problem I have is a sore arm. I was very nervous before thinking I would be standing on line for hours. I wish they could use this site as an example for how to give people their shots.

(8,380 posts)phone number to call to have our Covid shots scheduled. Itll be in the basement of our doctors office with EMTs on site. February 8 and March 8.
It was tough to get through but I did after about 45 minutes. I have to wait a few weeks due to the shingles vaccine, but these were the first available appointments anyway. We live in Central Virginia.
