Franklin Graham: 10 Republicans 'promised' something for impeachment vote; calls for minister's removalEvangelist minister Franklin Graham is facing calls for his removal for statements supporting former President Donald Trump's actions before and after the deadly Capitol riot, including that Republicans backing impeachment were "promised" something.
In a Jan. 14 Facebook post, Graham, who was born in Asheville and educated in Western North Carolina, said "shame, shame on the ten Republicans who joined with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in impeaching President Trump yesterday."
"It makes you wonder what the thirty pieces of silver were that Speaker Pelosi promised for this betrayal," he said in the post that drew 65,000 comments, many critical.
A spokeswoman for Rep. Tom Rice of South Carolina, the only southerner among the impeachment-backing Republicans, did not return a Jan. 20 message asking about Franklin comparing him to Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus Christ, according to the Bible's New Testament, or saying he was given something in exchange for his vote.

(13,507 posts)church organizations should be totally tax exempt. Smaller churches are a different matter. So many smaller churches in my area are struggling to stay open and some have closed. Many of these small churches population are elderly and cant give very much to the church.

Sorry Evangelicals - you all have been fooled for generations. Ignorance and superstition are not winning plays for a modern society.
Fuck your speaking in fake made up tongues. Fuck your fake miracle cures. Fuck your insincere concern. Fuck You.
Grow up, or throw up and shut up.
Your 'movement' is the spawn of your Satan. You are all heretical idiots.
And grifters too.

Judas was an early, modern-day, conservative disciple.
Judas got 30 pieces of silver, but just once, for selling Christ.
Franklin Graham, Jim Bakker and their ilk get millions of dollars repeatedly for selling Christ.
Judas was a fool for doing a one-time sale.

(61,695 posts)with HBO Europe in Spanish called 30 Monedas. It is a horror story, but centers around the secret recovery of the thirty pieces of silver by either the Roman Catholic church, or a group headed by Satan. The evil group's existence centers on an idea that God required Satan to rebel, because good requires an opposite, evil, for humans to have free will.
The horror part of it has been well done, without scaring or grossing me out too much. Excellent acting, a good, intricate plot.
"Judas was a fool for doing a one-time sale." Pretty much. Bakkers, Graham, Falwells, etc have done well monetizing what they say they believe.
