https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/metro-detroit-man-charged-in-assault-of-police-officer-with-hockey-stick-during-capitol-riot....Hit the link above and there is story with pictures. This occurred in Washington D.C. in bright daylight where taking pictures is very easy and results will be clear and definite. And, not just one picture, but a series of pictures....
.... Perhaps this fellow believed that he was some "hero" like his hero..But beating
a police officer is against the law and the great majority of us know that. How can this fool defend
himself with those pictures available to all? I guess this person thinks that he is ..."above the law"
as a few others believe. I suspect that he will soon learn otherwise with a good amount of time to
himself and some new friends in a rather ..."closed environment"[./b]

He figured he would be lauded as a patriot.

I can't believe people thought there would be no consequences

(33,643 posts)Those idiots literally thought they were taking part in a POTUS/GOP sponsored revolution. Trump, Hawley, Cruz, Brooks, etc ... had paved the way for them.
Probably believed Trump was among their group, or at least just off to the side somewhere.

(38,428 posts)...Like a small fine or something like that ..Not 5 years in jail. If someone had told them that going
to Washington D.C. would take away their .".Freedom for 5 Years" then it is likely that the morons would
have stayed home and watched TV and ate some .........
I deeply believe that the level of stupidity in many people is as low as one can imagine...and...
that is pretty low!!!!!

(269,022 posts)Not once did I break the law - even when others did. Thankfully we were taught that there are consequences for actions. It never crossed my mind to enter a building, let alone to kill, maim, etc.
I hope these criminals receive long sentences. Everyone of them would have shot someone entering their property.

He believed a snake oil salesman and then wondered why HE was arrested. In his mind, he is the good guy.
