it's a shame that the media does not seem to get that.
I don't know how many times lately that the media has reported how smart Josh Hawley (Stanford/Yale) and Lying Ted (Princeton/Harvard) are, and how they just can't understand how those two assholes, with such prestigious academic backgrounds, can be so incredibly intelligent and still act the way they do at the same time.
Just because Hawley and Cruz are so intelligent in terms of academics and debate skills, it does not mean that they are not incredibly stupid in other ways. The media, in fact anyone, should know by now that smart people aren't always smart in all ways. My father told me that when I was a kid. That is all.

(182,824 posts)I see nothing about Hawley Cruz DeSantis or Kayleigh that in any way implies any measure of being outstanding. They all seem to be very driven and probably worked very hard to earn their academic accomplishments.

(10,829 posts)Both Hawley and Cruz imagine themselves in the catseat and hope to run for POTUS in 2024. It's also obvious that both men are willing to sell their souls (if they still have them) to advance that goal. They're even more dangerous than Donald Trump.
We need to make sure these ambitions are strangled in the crib. Because another round of Trumpist gangsterism will be national suicide.

They can skate thru education because they have figured out answers
without knowing or reading anything.
I saw evidence that Trump did not even know how to read or at least not very well.

(15,219 posts)If it might seem smart to get off the Trump train now, but as a pure political calculation thats still up in the air.
Even if the odds of political success are low staying on the election fraud bandwagon, Cruz and Harley might see it as the best card they have to play, with political oblivion being their only other option.

(9,893 posts)who is constantly commenting that Man is supposed to be so smart but does such dumb things, "smart" does not mean people do what some others of us think they should do. We think that because it is good to be smart, smart people do good things. Nope, smart is value neutral. I liken it to energy. Smart is potential. You can cook food with heat, or you can burn down the Capital with heat. Smart is good or bad depending on what you do with it. I work in a psychiatric hospital and there is no one more disruptive than a smart person with serious mental illness.
Smart can be used for good or for evil.

Isn't there famous quote about people pretending not to know something when their paychecks depend on them not knowing it?
Mark Twain perhaps?
I guess I come down on the side that people like these, and John Cornyn and that demented Senator Kennedy (NOT one of our Kennedys) are smart but pretend not to be when it's in their self-interest.
