https://news.yahoo.com/texas-school-district-proposed-diversity-100050047.html"Allen West, the Texas GOP chairman, addressed the dispute in August when he was invited to speak at a church near the city. In a video of the speech posted to YouTube, West told the audience that the situation in Southlake follows a pattern of school districts attempting to indoctrinate children with liberal values.
West, who is Black, then offered a suggestion for how to fight back. He told the audience to welcome new residents from out of state with a pecan pie, but then to ask, Now why are you here?
And if those new neighbors don't share traditional conservative beliefs about gun rights and tax policy, West advised the audience to respond with seven words: Go back to where you came from.
Texas is an ENORMOUS state and hardly monolithic. Allen West can kiss my lily white, 64 year old, 100% Texan ass. He is a disgrace.

There are all kinds of bible verses about welcoming the stranger - I may be wrong, but I can't think of any that says shun them if they don't believe in gun rights.
SMDH. Why do these " churches" get special treatment again?

(20,191 posts)Texas was part of Mexico (and Spain and France) before it was an independent republic, part of the US or part of the confederacy. Mexican Americans often have ancestors that lived in parts of Mexico north of the Rio Grande BEFORE white Americans had ancestors in the US. Spanish, French or Native American languages were spoken in the US before English was ever uttered, not to mention the African languages of the slaves.
The US is a nation of immigrants. We are known for moving where opportunity takes us. So to the "go back to where you came from" I have one answer:
YOU FIRST

(15,943 posts)Because Allen West you are NOT a Texan. You came to my state with your divisive rhetoric. So, go home!

* the racists mentioned in the article keep using indoctrination to liberal ideas as their excuse.

Of course, his "punishment" was little more than a slap on the wrist. He was fined 5k spread over two months.
