Twitter suspends Ayatollah Khamenei Twitter account following implied death threat against Trump
A Twitter account linked to Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was suspended Friday morning following a posting that seemed to show former President Donald Trump golfing under the shadow of a drone.
That photo was captioned “Revenge is inevitable. Soleimani’s killer and the man who gave the orders must face vengeance,” according to the Times of Israel.

The tweet also warned “Revenge can take place at any moment.”
The reference was to a U.S. drone strike that killed Iranian general Qasem Soleimani in January 2020. Iran responded to that assassination with a missile strike on Al Asad Air Base in Iraq that injured more than 60 U.S. military personnel. The Ayatollah has continued calling for retribution, including a tweet last month in which he warned “those who ordered the murder” that vengeance “will certainly happen at the right time.”
