I also think there will likely be a wave of additional charges (seditious conspiracy, insurrection) filed against the insurrectionists once the DOJs new leadership is in place.

They already have the evidence Cohen went to prison for. No need to wait on more difficult to prove cases, or maybe even a self pardon. Indict him now and find out if he can self pardon. If he can the other cases are mute.
