A Christmas card sent by extended family in Illinois.
The envelope was postmarked in Carol Stream, IL on December 8!!! It arrived in Stafford County, VA (Fredericksburg) on January 21. Thank Dog it wasn't anything important like medication or replacement parts for my medical equipment.
It goes without saying, President Biden needs to fire DeJoy. NOW!

(32,626 posts)ordered by courts, and subpoenaed by Congress. To no avail. If people want a post office, guess they have to lobby for one. Biden isn't Mr. Fix-it for the absolute disaster this country is. But 'we the people' have our own representatives to deal with our concerns. Not that it matters.
=============================
As it turns out, since 1970, members of the board of governors have served in staggered 9-year terms. The idea is to have a board whose membership is spread across multiple administrations and which owes allegiance to no particular White House. That should mean that about half those currently seated on the board are left over from Obamas term in office, with others appointed by Trump. But thats not what happened. In 2015, Obama re-nominated most of the existing board members for a second term, including those members appointed under Bush. Those six members should all still be on the board. None of them are.
Thats because McConnell did what he did so oftenblocked those nominations. By the time Trump stepped in, the number of remaining Bush- and Obama-appointed board members was exactly zero. Then, as with federal judges, McConnell abruptly got out of the way. That means that every single current member of the United States Postal Service board of governors was appointed by Donald Trump. That board then officially ousted lifelong Postal Service employee Megan Brennan, and replaced her with Republican fundraiser Louis DeJoy.

(19,956 posts)but he doesn't have that advantage now. For a guy who has been giving the middle finger to the Democrats, there is no way they are going to tolerate the situation continuing. I am looking at the way they moved quickly on the Michael Ellis situation, as a guide to their determination when it comes to DeJoy.
