Corporate America started freaking out. Announcing they wouldn’t be giving any funding to the republican traitors. Then I remembered the Joint Chiefs writing that letter to warn the troops.

So now I’m reading a book, called How Democracy Fails. It appears, it’s normally falls from within. Allowing some dim wit in, thinking you can handle him..and so on.

I’m not sure too many people understand. I bet corporate America does, and it scared them. The RNC failed by allowing Trump even in their party, so we have to watch them closely.

They need him destroyed, humiliated and discredited and that will be constant revelations about his finances, tax fraud, money laundering, Russian connections, influence peddling and then a picture of him in an orange jumpsuit with a shaved head should be a nice touch too.

The public must be told, again and again. Democrats must draw a line in the sand, as Steve Schmidt keeps telling us, this is democracy versus autocrats, you're either on one side or the other, not both. But purging the miscreants from office will take several election cycles. So we have to execute elections with energy, numbers too big to doubt, and rule of law candidates. Our former prosecutors, intelligence personnel, and military vet office holders are a really strong start. We need more and more and more of them.

Having been in DC many times for protests, and "just" for fun and history visits it's extra personal for me.
Flawed as we are as a country I love visiting 💖 DC!

Having toured The Capitol like 45- 50 years ago. I definitely remember some of that tour.
I remember riding the Capitol subway!

Think I even recognized a narrow hallway with fancy painted arched ceiling in one of the vids! My jaw dropped!

Some of my FB friends, the Trumpists, are concerned that their price of gas will go up to $4/gal. That's how much they are concerned about the end of the Trump era.

and the courts and overthrow the whole shebang at once!

The news today was very interesting, first that his campaign outfit paid to bus those losers in to riot; and second, the a lot of those losers are giving testimony that they wouldn't have been there without his explicit instructions before the riot.

I loathed Nixon, despised Reagan, had absolutely no use for the hapless Dubya. This is the first bad president I've wanted to see go to prison.

Now that he's stiffed Giuliani publicly, he's going to have a lot of trouble finding lawyers. I'm beginning to think it might happen.

I keep coming back in any tRump-related conversation to the words of Masha Gesson, the day after he was installed into the presidency.

She said that the problem for America was that, having not suffered through a dictatorship before in its history, that it would not recognize one when it encountered one. The same is true, of course, of a coup attempt, no matter how ham-fisted or slow rolling ...

Sure, some Rs may have enabled a corrupt POTUS who, along with other Rs, incited the murderous insurrection & coup attempt...

But...

Joe Biden hasn't chosen any Rs for his cabinet...

The fact that McTurtle & his Merry Band of Obstructionists & Insurrectionists are even considering not convicting Pissolini for this is proof enough of that.

The gravity of the January 6th deadly seditionist riots ought to guarantee that 90% of Rs in Congress get a steady stream of calls & letters (or texts & emails, though apparently less effective) expressing our outrage over the deadly, anti-American, nearly successful bloody coup attempt and their part in enabling it

In a just world they'd all be ousted, convicted, & never allowed to hold public office again.

can't tell you what the three branches of government are, much less what each does.

(This includes "W", who we remember couldn't properly answer what are the three branches of government..........)

A high percentage of Americans, right and left, couldn't begin to pass the citizenship civics test to become U.S. citizens.

THAT is what is truly shameful............

Now we know he not only sparked the insurrection funded by various conservative groups, he had a plan to disembowel the DOJ so they would go to court to perpetuate and litigate the rigged election lie.

He always told you he was the brightest bulb around ... well you have to give him high marks for deviousness, deceit, and deception. It was quite a plot.

Wash. Post reports some of the insurrectionists were plotting to seal legislators in the tunnel and gas them.

Why isn't anyone asking yet, "What did the President know and when did he know it?" If he had preknowledge of plots to kill members of Congress and/or the Vice President, he should be in prison for the rest of his life.

miserable life in a federal prison cell. And the rest of these Republicans saying we should give Trump and the insurrectionists a pass for the sake of 'unity?' Fuck them.

Neville Chamberlain tried that back in 1938 with Hitler, and it came to be called 'appeasement.'

There is no appeasement possible for fascists like Trump, Gosar, Cruz, Hawley, and any others who betrayed their oaths by supporting the insurrection.
