Report Claims Donald And Melania Sent The Butlers Home When They Left So There Would Be No One To Help The Bidens When They Arrived
If you dont think Donald and Melania Trump are petty people, then you havent been paying attention. The former president demonstrated that trait daily, and his wife displayed a shallow demeanor. Adding to the pile of their pettiness is news that Trump and his wifebot sent White House ushers home for the day on Wednesday morning to leave the new first family to fend for themselves upon entering, according to what several informed sources told the National Journal. Were sure the Bidens can take care of themselves, but this is yet another glimpse into Trumps flawed character.
The Trumps sent the butlers home when they left so there would be no one to help the Bidens when they arrived, a well-placed official not associated with the incoming Biden team told the outlet. So petty. Other sources told the Journal that chief usher Timothy Harleth a former executive of Trump Hotels who was hired by Melania Trump was summarily fired by the Trumps before they left not by the Bidens, as has been reported.
Harleth was shown the door before the Bidens reached the door at the North Portico on Wednesday afternoon for their first official entrance as president and first lady, the Journal reports. Video of their arrival showed them waving to photographers and hugging for the cameras for more than a minutelonger than typical presidential photo opsbefore approaching the entrance with their family. The heavy doors swung open from within about 15 seconds later.
Its a big protocol breach for the president to ever stand in front of a closed-door at the White House, a veteran White House social expert told the outlet.
Both Melania and Donald Trump refused to meet with the Bidens, and the transition meetings were delayed for several weeks. The Trump familys spitefulness is common knowledge, and Id really like to know what his supporters see in such a petty man. And following the violent insurrection that the former president encouraged, Trump has forced America to send troops to America to promote democracy in America. It doesnt usually work that way, but here we are. Weve come full circle. And all because of Trumps pettiness.

(50,559 posts)...that Trump still thinks he's president. They told him, "No, Mr. Trump, you aren't the president any longer," but he just can't accept that. After all, 73 million people voted for him. A record! Biggest ever turnout! He just can't wrap his head around the idea that even more people voted against him, which is why he doesn't have a Diet Coke button on his desk any more and he doesn't get to charge the taxpayer every time he wants to golf.

(5,018 posts)means they view this sort of behavior as just "punishment." Its not "he's a boor" but rather "it is OK to treat Democrats boorishly."

(5,124 posts)it was petty. We know they are petty, small, evil people. Anyone they hired, that had anything to do with trump org, or people they brought in should be fired.

Sorry, but that sounds as petty as anything Trump would do.

(5,124 posts)I doubt this guy actually needed this job. Wonder how much he was getting paid? He needed it as much as the job Giuliani's son had and all the other useless people they brought in.
Anyone that had anything to do with trump org prior to working at the WH should be fired. Any hires that Melania or Trump had anything to do with or were influenced by Trump should be fired for the safety of our president and our nation.
If that's petty, oh well.

(29,067 posts)I have a question: How many ushers and butlers do you imagine work at the White House?
I ask because most here understand that judging an entire group on the basis of one or two individuals is something called "stereotyping", a practice Democrats, on principle, try to avoid...Get it now?
tulipsandroses
(5,124 posts)and I'm fine with that. I'm not giving an inch to these malignant stains on history. They don't have good judgment, rarely do anything with good intentions, so no I don't trust anyone they have a direct hand in hiring that comes from their world that they pulled to work in the WH.
I'm perfectly fine if you think I'm stereotyping those folks.

(50,559 posts)He got shipped off to military school, and military schools make their students do KP duty. So yes, Trump has washed dishes before.

(27,045 posts)I read where Harleth, even though hired by the Trumps, wanted to stay on, but apparently, Trump wouldn't have it. Even so, it wouldn't have been a good idea for Biden to keep him on, as he was one of Trump's guys.

(23,677 posts)They all knew they had to get the WH ready for the Bidens. Im sure all the WH support staff had been through many meetings to go over what each one had responsibility for in the hours between when the jerk left and the Bidens arrived.
Trump may have told them they could leave, but Im sure they didnt. This wasnt the first transition for many of them.
