Kevin McCarthys lust for power will result in a complete loss for the Republican House Minority Leader and the GOP.Niall O'Dowd
Jan 30, 2021
Well, that did not take long! A few weeks after showing some testicular fortitude and criticizing President Trumps outrageous behavior on January 6th, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was spotted at Mar A Lago butt-sniffing his old boss Donald Trump.
Denial of any responsibility for January 6th seemed to be the new mantra as McCarthy proudly posed for pictures beside the closest thing to a dictator that America has ever witnessed.
Trump is a man who fought at several different levels to disenfranchise American voters and steal an election. He sought to interfere in the count in Georgia, he filed utterly bogus lawsuits, he tried to corruptly use the Justice Department and lit the flame for a riot situation. Luckily he failed on all levels but still refused to concede.
snip
The lack of gumption and acceptance of anti-democratic norms, including trying to steal an election by fomenting a riot, was suddenly swept under the carpet and the corpulent Trump re-appeared in triumph, seemingly back at the head of the party he is about to destroy.

(2,475 posts)I love that the author calls McCarthy and McConnell Proud Boys. We all should, along with Hawley, Cruz and the rest.

(629 posts)Thats what Repubs do. Anytime the mention Liberals it's the "Radical Left". The Dems need to take a page out of the Repubs playbook! Refer to everyone of them in Congress as "Proud boys" or say "Extreme Right" every time they mention republicans.

(9,090 posts)MIT researchers prototyped using AI to automatically record, transcribe, and analyze hundreds of radio stations for nearly 300,000 hrs or 3Bil words. a larger continuous sampling and retroactive analysis of rw radio will scare the ad industry into breaking up the monopoly and destroying it.
besides that, limbaugh is croaking
these dumbass teabag dittoheads will have no one to make excuses for their treason and they're going to get dumped in their next elections
maybe someone should tell democrats they have no need to compromise
As long as there is a platform, corporations are going to place ads. They don't care how much you hate them, they will call your house, they'll call your cell phone, they'll email you, they'll slide their ads in, no matter what. Legal, illegal, doesn't matter.
Until the US makes a law banning all of this advertising, selling your information crap, it's going to only get worse.
The "do not call" list? How in the hell do you think they know your number? And that there is someone who lives there?
The "unsubscribe" button on your emails? How in the hell do you think they know there is someone at that email address, and that it's a valid address? For every "unsubscribe", they sell your email to at least 100 advertisers.
Every time you sign up for a service, your phone and email are sold. They stalk the hell out of you, and there are ABSOLUTELY NO repercussions.

(9,090 posts)without listening and associate them with content - global warming denial, the covid denial that got hundreds of thousands killed, racism, etc - it's stoprush x 100
that's not good for business and they won't want it to start
it will also scare off the 100+ universities and another hundred pro sports teams that also use those stations while their racist blowhards call kneeling athletes unamerican and blm protestors commie terrorists

And Republicans gained in the House.

(1,690 posts)The way the republican congress kisses up to a guy who has done everything he could to destroy democracy in his selfish pursuit to become a totalitarian dictator, just like Hitler did back in the day. Not every republican congress person is a Tea Party type like Cruz and Hawley, so WTF is wrong with them that they don't come out in the strongest terms that he needs to be convicted for his painfully obvious despicable acts.

(7,263 posts)They fear the primaries. They are putting their ambition over their Country.
Change will not happen until Congressional Districts are drawn in a non-partisan fashion.
The Senate rethugs fear the same thing - primary challenges. QAnon crazies, white supremacists and Christo-fascists, though a distinct minority, are being allowed to control the message.
The only solution I see to this is deprogramming and re-education of the electorate. And that means limiting Fox News, OAN, Nesmax and AM hate radio.

(833 posts)Reminds me of one of Betty White's funnier and bawdier witticisms. I'm paraphrasing: I don't know why they say anyone should grow some balls. Those things are delicate and easily injured. They should recommend growing a vagina. Now, those things can take a pounding. McCarthy's fragile testicles surely prove White's wisdom. (White also suggests why we need more women in govt. The men surely have made an unholy mess of thing.)

(24,311 posts)It's called people who will obey Trump because they are tired of their family getting death threats. I think it's gotten to that level. Threatening people is not a new tactic for Trump. He doesn't do it, he has people do it. Michael Cohen used to do it for a living.

(3,256 posts)The deposed tyrant is setting on a huge pile of dough in his PAC and these weasels are hoping to get some for the own campaigns. They all know that fundraising going to get tougher for them with the Russia/NRA money cut off and big donors trying to hide. i wouldn't put it past any of these weasels to demand money for a no vote on impeachment. Oh, and they still make brown paper bags. McCarthy is probably just the bag man.
