thank god we're in CT where people over the age of 75 are getting vaccinated. The phone number we called answered within 3 or 4 rings. We were able to set our appts and get directions. Hubby was nervous and screwed up on the directions (I've learned not to correct him while he's driving) and had to spend extra time unscrewing up but I kept my mouth shut.
Since we had left early, we were right on time. They did let us in until 10 minutes before our scheduled time. We were directed to the short line at the door of the large room with LOTS of stations ready to give you a vaccination. I had my ID and health insurance card handy.
We go for our second shot at the same place (different time). I was told to expect a bit of soreness in the arm. It's been over an hour and I have no pain.
Thank you, Democratic Governor Lamont for being a DECENT, CARING human being.
P.S. Yesterday, at our supermarket check out, I was TOLD by the lady checking out my groceries that she wasn't getting the shot and I SHOULDn"T either! I was surprised at her tone, but I don't argue with people about it. I forget how it happened to come up in conversation...

(2,574 posts)I got my first dose yesterday. The whole process was well organized, simple and easy. No side effects yet except for slight soreness at injection site, and the soreness is almost gone now.

(63,912 posts)Because of Drump we have been accustomed to hearing the drumbeat of "government can't do anything." Well, it sure can! As my mother used to say "This is a country that won World War Two and put a man on the moon! Don't tell me we can't (fill in the blank)!"

(63,912 posts)Sorry about that. My excuse is that I'm old (81) and in good shape otherwise.

(11,300 posts)to sign up and get a shot due to one of the providers making a mistake. They're 68 but at the time they signed up there wasn't a problem, much like some of the teachers managed to get vaccinated by error. Though I think teachers should be higher on the scale anyway.

(145,462 posts)They unmasked him about two or three weeks ago and he got the vaccine. His arm hurt after each shot and he ran a slight fever. He goes in mid Feb for blood work and they will give him his vaccination card.
It feels good to get at least one shot. My next shot is Feb.13
