Message from my soon to not be Republican boss

This message was in response to Adam Kinzinger's efforts to reclaim the GOP from the fringe elements.

Snip:

I have seen a couple of interviews with this guy, seems like more of the traditional conservative republican that I grew up with and supported in the past, Reagan, Bush, etc.., hopefully it will get some traction, I'm so disgusted with the republican party right now that I'm going to change my status to unaffiliated or Independent. I'm embarrassed and ashamed of what the party has become.

after their party goes on a crazy jag. The Bush era created a lot of these "independents", too.

to pols who track the numbers of their base that at the very least, they may not be able to depend on getting that vote next time even if that voter does not vote for a Dem.

Yeah, it's not a full commitment, but yeah, it still matters.

9. "Independent" is a transition step. It was for me. They may stay or switch to Dem eventually.

3. Who will win the republican party infrastructure?

Bernie Sanders was right back in 2015 when he said that there are only two ways to the White House & one is through the Democratic Party & the other is through the Republican Party. That is true of most Congressional & State seats as well. No other parties have the infrastructure these two have. It's going to be interesting to see who takes ownership of the republican infrastructure. It's not looking good for the moderates, who are already fleeing their party.

redistricted out of existence. Or, he could be looking to run for governor.

Don't trust him. Look at his voting record. He is an opportunist.

Keep in mind that if he does keep his district somewhat intact, he lives in a very red area. He is safe.

He is my Congress person. I have seen him in action. I repeat: Don't trust him.

7. Opportunist is perfect description. He is positioning as a "reasonable Republican".

He is an ambitious twit, large of mouth but small of accomplishment.
