Shocking. Trump's lawyers' brief (p. 2) reads as if it came straight from Reconstruction. It says Ds are using Americans' horror and confusion over January 6 to gain political advantage. In 1866, white supremacists said the same about those trying to protect Black lives.

The GOP seeks to politicize everything to appeal to people's emotions, when the underlying facts are incontrovertible and seldom if ever favor them.

Propaganda is what that is.

White Supremacy needs to be put down once and for all.

America is moving on without these people, like it or not.

That was a technique used by Reconstructionists to bring the south to tow after the civil war.

Congressmen LITERALLY waved the bloody shirt of a Union soldier to remind Congress of the horror that the south had wrought upon the Union. It was very effective.

Trump's defense thinks this is something bad....it isn't...the country needs to see the bloody results of Trump's insurrection and we NEED TO WAVE THE BLOODY SHIRT so that nobody in the country can deny the treasonous effects of Trump's actions.

who refused to charge Cosby. On edit- Pa elects it’s state court judges which I think is a horrible. I am an attorney in NJ and previously practiced in Pa. my office was in Philly and when a Philly lawyer dared to handle a case in Montgomery County where Castor is from boy do they get the out of town treatment. I learned this 30 years ago as a young eager NJ and primarily Philadelphia based lawyer. I filed a medical malpractice case that was fairly straight forward in Montgomery County and was treated like shit. They mess with out-of-town lawyers with their own “local court rules” and love to stick it to unsuspecting Philly lawyers. I practice in South Jersey where state court judges are appointed based on merit (yes you need political juice to get an appointment to the bench) but all must be approved by the Bar Association for competence and undergo an exhaustive background check and out of state lawyers NJ licensed lawyers are treated the same a NJ based lawyers. I cannot understand how state Supreme Court justices are elected to the bench and are beholden to their donors. Castor comes from that culture and had been discussed as a possible candidate for Pa. Supreme Court. Just another political hack.

Officers and damage property, all while looking for their targets.

These silly geese, we had 4 years of “horror and confusion”, that is how we gained the “political advantage” this past election.

They want no consequences no matter what any of them do. And it wasn't just Trump and that's part of why they don't want Trump to have consequences - this will come back to haunt a lot of them.

In fact, I would say it is one's moral duty to do everything s/he can to permanently banish those promoting such anti-democratic and anti-American crimes.

Authoritative and somewhat scholarly - but makes it easier for people without PhDs to follow than a lot of historians do. When I say "somewhat scholarly" that is not a knock against her - she can be as scholarly as it gets, but doesn't feel the need to. Much more interested in making facts and her point of view make sense.
