Turns out Rob Gronkowski wasn't the guy the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had to worry about when it came to the safety of the Lombardi Trophy.T
The Bucs set sail for a boat parade down Hillsborough River in Tampa on Wednesday to celebrate their Super Bowl LV victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, and Tom Brady arrived in style on his $2 million boat.
The parade featured the usual shenanigans -- until Brady decided to attempt an uncharacteristically risky throw. Here's the 43-year-old quarterback literally throwing the Lombardi Trophy over open water from his boat to a boat of Tampa Bay wide receivers.

OP
As I watched that, I had the sneaky suspicion that alcohol may have been involved. ;)

(9,178 posts)2. Yep...they caught it!
I suspect the NHL and NFL may have to rethink boat parade celebrations (if they want to keep their trophies).

(13,096 posts)3. I have a picture with the Lombardi trophy
When the Seahawks won the Superbowl it was brought to Washington and I stood in line with friends at the state capitol to get a picture with it. They take very good care of it to keep it pristine.
No one was allowed to touch it.
So, the idea of Brady tossing it like a bottle of beer strikes me as disrespectful and white-trashish.
