Stacey Plaskett just took the entire process to another level

Her calling out Trump's defense lawyers for their racist videos depicting black women fighting for justice will go down in history.

That said, I believe the statement in the first video has a factual error. I can't find anything confirming the existence of a John Lewis statue in the U.S. Capitol either now or on Jan. 6. There is an ongoing movement to have the Alexander Stephens statue replaced with one of John Lewis.

What the insurrectionists desecrated on Jan. 6 was a placard memorial of Lewis on an easel outside Steny Hoyer's office.

I know this might seem a picayune point but I think it important having details correct when you know opponents will seize on any nit to pick.

While rioters shamefully destroyed this tribute to my brother John Lewis yesterday, let his words continue to echo in the halls of Congress and in our hearts. Let us always stand up, speak up, and speak out against injustice and for our democracy.

When your entire value system is based on being white, it has got to hurt when a PERSON like this shows that SHE is smarter, more eloquent, thoughtful and compassionate than they could ever be. I miss Barbara Jordon, but with the likes of Stacey Plaskett fighting the good fight, I have hope for the future.
