The sample from that song, starting at 2:19 into it, was used in Len's Steal My Sunshine.

(12,414 posts)Great to listen to Blondie from deep in the heart of Siberia at 2 in the morning. Surf music from Arabian stations!
Best thing is you build a list of favs and when you tune in you can turn off the app and your screen and it keeps streaming.
Large dots are multiple stations.

Not until I got to Turkey was there any language and music that sounded like that country. India was very much of its culture, too.

(11,564 posts)The possibilities are staggering, and I am now kicking myself for never learning more languages.
Who am I kidding? I'm still struggling with English and have only the most rudimentary French.
Still, this thing is cool as shit!

(57,597 posts)Radio Garden is a non-profit Dutch radio and digital research project developed from 2013 to 2016, by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision (under the supervision of Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg's Goal Föllmer), by the Transnational Radio Knowledge Platform and five other European universities. It is funded by HERA. According to the service, the idea is to narrow the boundaries from the radio. It gained popularity in 2016 when it surpassed the 8.000 registered station mark and, as announced at The Radio Conference 2016: Transnational Encounters, went viral.

(11,564 posts)I was too tired to try this out when I saw it last night, so I just did. I wasn't that interested in hearing my hometown station (Victoria BC), but thought I'd see what goes on in our big near-neighbour, Seattle.
I clicked on Seattle, and was just about to hit the "see individual stations" button, and it started giving me a station's current broadcast.
Rush Limbaugh show.
I have no idea how it chose that one, but I take this as a very bad omen.
