New: A Capitol insurrection defendant photographed in tactical gear carrying plastic handcuffs will be jailed pending trial, a judge ruled.
Eric Munchel and his mother/co-defendant Lisa Eisenhart pose "a clear danger to our republic," the judge wrote.

I LOVED when he got outed - his brilliant Capitol disguise wasted, cause he didn't change his military gear before celebrating in his HOTEL LOBBY and got livestreamed.

The zip-tie guy has been identified.
He even gave an interview at his DC hotel afterward.
Eric Munchel, of Nashville, TN.

(4,787 posts)2. "Her words were chilling...The Court takes Eisenhart at her word"...
After the insurrection, Eisenhart was one of several people who gave an interview to the Times of London! I don't know the circumstances because the site is paywalled, but she is quoted in the various motions/memos.
From the judge's memorandum:
...after the riots, Eisenhart indicated that she was willing to undertake such actions again. Her words were chilling:
This country was founded on revolution. If they're going to take every legitimate means from us, and we can't even express ourselves on the internet, we won't even be able to speak freely, what is America for? I'd rather die as a 57-year-old woman than live under oppression. I'd rather die and would rather fight.
Pullman, supra. The Court takes Eisenhart at her word. She, like her son, invoked the American Revolution, indicating support for violent revolt. In fact, she even indicated that she was willing to give her life in support of her cause. Thus, Eisenhart too has indicated that she is willing to repeat her behavior.
By word and deed, Eisenhart has supported the violent overthrow of the United States government. As a self-avowed, would-be martyr, she poses a clear danger to our republic. The potential danger Eisenhart poses to the community strongly supports a finding that no conditions of release would protect the community.
