GOP calls Biden's first 100 days a failure -- just 36 days in

By Josh Israel -February 25, 2021 1:16 PM

Math is not the Republican Party's strong suit.

The Republican National Committee complained on Thursday that President Joe Biden has not kept his promise to reopen most schools in the first 100 days of his presidency. He has only been on the job for 36 days.

"On the campaign trial [sic], Biden promised to reopen schools within his first 100 days in office," the party tweeted. "But that is just another promise that President Biden hasn't kept."

Hours after the original tweet, the Republican National Committee deleted it and replaced it with one repeating the misleading claim, but removing the bad math and the typo.

This article was updated after the Republican National Committee deleted its original tweet.

At least some of them would *probably* be able to count to 100 if they had.

Or at least 50.

Teachers are in the third vaccine tier, which started yesterday in NC. My bff the middle school teacher gets her vaccine Saturday. The Administrations position that teachers should be priority for vaccines helped move them up.

Schools here have been open to plan B part time in-person 9/21-12/23, then again beginning Feb 1. Vaccinating school personnel reduces the risk of viral spread to almost zero.

Schools will be in full swing after Easter break, if not before.

He promised to open k-8 schools safely, and put funding into testing and tracing, maintaining social distance, and additional teachers.

The GQP is immune to facts and can only selectively edit and cherry pick to feed their faux outrage machine. They're not *for* anything, just against any sort of progress for any group the oldwhitechistianmen deems beneath them.

- treason and giving foreign enemies what they want
- lying everyday
- tweets from the president to call people names and threaten opponents and allies alike
- lying about covid deaths
- increasing numbers of covid deaths
- lying about the benefit of face masks and social distancing
- threatening blue states, lying to red states
- giving money to the ultrarich
- taking health care away from Americans
- yelling at states that are hit by disasters - instead of providing Federal aide - like texas just got

by these measures the gop would declare that Biden has failed.

we’d have cities on the moon and colonies on Mars,” is something they will all be saying in a week, maybe two.
Along with “Trump had a plan to cover all Americans with health insurance for next to no cost but the Democratic Senate blocked his efforts,” and, from MTG, “Biden has a plan to raise everybody’s taxes to build a Federal Complex in outer space as a place to meet with aliens to negotiate the sale of white children to work in the Dilithium crystal mines on Farfarout*.”

*an actual dwarf planet at the extremest edge of the Solar System, beyond Pluto and, trust me, the dwarf planet “Far-out”.

was saying that other family members said Biden has not kept his word on the stimulus. The way she said it made it seem like she might believe it too.
🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ I told her Biden did his job. Now it is up to Congress. If Congress does their job, he will sign it. Then I hear people complaining about lack of vaccines. Who the hell are they blaming for that. Trump screwed everything up and now Biden has to clean it up. What is he supposed to do? Use a magic wand? 😡

Which makes counter-messaging imperative. No time for humility. Every single marker that's made, every piece of legislation that succeeds, every EO which brings relief needs to be cheered to the rooftop, repeatedly, consistently, on every Sunday show and every time one of our reps and senators are interviewed.

Just like the Republicans follow the Big Lie messaging and get away with it, we need to followup with our own truth serum.

It's a narrative we cannot afford to lose.
