A new Pentagon report on extremism has revealed that several white supremacists have been active in the US military.
The report, obtained by Roll Call, which was commissioned by Congress and dated October 2020, details instances of former military personnel speaking openly about their white supremacist views while serving.
One example featured in the report was a former National Guardsman bragging about openly espousing his white supremacist views while serving in the military.
The former guardsman did this in the extremist Iron March online forum in 2016, telling another member: I was 100 per cent open about everything with the friends I made at training. They know about it all. They love me too cause Im a funny guy.

(9,353 posts)I remember reading articles back then about the Christian Right forcing cadets into indoctrination.
Most of it was complaints by Jewish students.
Obviously didnt go far.

(3,818 posts)headed House VA Subcommittee, former Doc in Marines, etc. Got chased out by Teabagger sweep. He was a great guy for fighting for the Military. He would fly back each weekend and every Saturday morning would go to the a local park, sit at a picnic table and speak to any constituent who showed and wanted to talk, a lot of them were vets, who needless swept him in each election. You'd also see him every Sat. night having a slice and beer at the local pizza parlor. Well rounded guy who the country lost from the House.
Might be something for newbie to be seen and approachable.

And while there is a growing connection -- there still some difference between the fundy Christians in the academies -- and the flat out Christian Identity, white nationalists. Which are also well known, and well represented. (And frankly -- I doubt that anyone in the armed forces would even recognize fundy Christians as 'extremists.' Strongly as you and I might disagree.)

(100,068 posts)To specifically target the USAFA. This was back in like 2007 - 2008. What resulted was a Christian fight club / brotherhood in the USAFA, and an FBI probe busted everyone who was involved and even the higher ups in the USAFA were discharged. I'm sure there's shit going on inside right now that could be the end result of this.
