Democrats should not be held hostage by Mitch McConnell to help struggling families. It is time to get rid of the filibuster to raise the minimum wage to $15 and pass the other bold policies that Americans voted for us to deliver.

(182 posts)Manchin wants a barely better poverty wage of $10. Maybe some one should explain to him that his daughter can't profit off of gouging the prices of medication when the people who need them have no money to buy the meds.

(19,201 posts)the middle class. $15 an hour is what's needed to stay above the poverty line for a family of four. Much more is needed to bring back the middle class. Hell, we can't even get 50 Senators to keep people out of poverty.

Lowest (for comparison, and I did not list ones who only were in only for a month or so at the end of Trump, as that is a useless measure)

(29,322 posts)She has voted like a conservative Democrat. I voted for her in her first primary for the House of Representatives and I voted for her over the Bill Clinton & Obama endorsed candidate -- Andrei Cherny because I thought she would be more liberal but I was wrong.
She was more liberal in the Arizona State House but shifted her policies for a Congressional run.
She used to be my Congressional Rep. Russell Pearce also used to be my State Senator who was the sponsor of SB1070.
Wiki
The Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act (introduced as Arizona Senate Bill 1070 and thus often referred to simply as Arizona SB 1070) is a 2010 legislative Act in the U.S. state of Arizona that at the time of passage in 2010 was the broadest and strictest antiillegal immigration measure passed in the United States.[2] It has received international attention and has spurred considerable controversy.[3][4]

"Actually, I love Russell," she said just in time for Valentine's Day. "We get along very well, not always on policy matters, but on personal matters we do."
Most Dems love to hate Pearce, but Sinema just loves him. It's not the sort of legislative chumminess I'd like to hear from the mouth of the state Senate's most liberal member. I expect she'll be reminded of this declaration over and over by her progressive pals, particularly if she decides to seek higher office.
