I really do, but when people like Warnock run for reelection just how are they supposed to win if they have nothing to present to the electorate thanks to us honoring the filibuster. We will get a COVID relief bill and literally nothing else at all. We have no other accomplishment to run on. Nothing, nada. At some point we have to get them to understand this or we will never have a Senate majority again. If we don't pass the voting rights act, and lets be blunt, we can have a voting rights act or we can have a filibuster we can't have both, Warnock is gone. NC is gone. TX is gone. FL is gone. We will never win a state wide race in any of those states ever again if we don't pass the VRA. Manchin will never hold a gavel again.

(7,864 posts)Be not filibuster that being said I don't doubt that when the cons take over they will and then restore it when they think they are gonna lose a branch or 2

(52,162 posts)that is they way democracy is supposed to work. Now we have the insane situation where we can't so much as name a post office without the minority saying we can, but we can replace SCOTUS justices which last for decades. How isn't that nuts.

(26,748 posts)WV isn't the only state where it's difficult to run as a progressive.
There were plenty of GA voters (enough to make the difference) who voted for Warnock because Manchin made clear that we wouldn't "get" things like court packing and removal of the filibuster if GA gave Democrats control of the Senate. That kept Warnock from having to answer those questions.

(52,162 posts)but in GA to take an example, we are now going to have urban voters waiting for hours upon hours in line to vote while rural ones will be in and out. We will be lucky if even half of Blacks will be able to vote next time.
