It shows how actions to mitigate spread are working but also how significantly higher the spread of COVID-19 is in comparison.

I would love to see more analysis on this. Especially with regard to the possibility that we could eradicate the flu if the trend continues.

There are several main strains, and within those strains there are mutations every season. That's why the flu shots are so ineffective - they make an educated guess as to what strain may be coming around this year. Often they are wrong.

So covid precautions (masks, hand sanitizer, social distancing) work better on the flu than on covid.

it was even more important to get the flu vaccine this year to prevent a twindemic.

Even though we are not so fantastic at preventing COVID, the flu is easier to avoid - using the same techniques as are needed to avoic COVID 19. I would have been gobsmacked if there had been much flu this year.

I’m sold on masking and constant hand washing plus sanitizers.
