These people are more fucked up than we thought they were. They're actually worshiping some grotesque piece of crap wrapped in a flag (and holding a bible?).
Their alternate reality is a place to which they want to take America and they'll do it at the point of a gun. We're laughing at them and mocking them, while we should be doing everything possible to quarantine them, shun them, and make them irrelevant. They are an imminent and deadly threat to all of us.
When fascism was threatening the world in the 20th Century, America stepped up and defeated it. Now, fascism is here among us and owns the Republican Party. We can't afford to let them take (steal) power again. They would pose a threat to the entire world.

(70,501 posts)gets "us libs" upset. Their golden Trump statue is just like when Rush would say, "Screw the spotted owl who cares
if that bird lives or dies?"
And hey if they want to make such a deeply flawed and un-American sack shit like Trump as the face
of the Republican party fine let 'em.

(32,080 posts)They think they're "owning the libs," when they're really just making massive fools of themselves. Do they really not understand just how fucking stupid they look parading that idiotic hunk of junk around? And, now y'all are telling me that it's going to be sold, and that somebody is going to piss away a huge sum of money on it? Hahahahahahahaha!!! Stop it! Hahahahahahahaha!!!

That golden statue is a different matter. Yeah, its purpose is to inflame and make a statement of IDGAF - golden calf or not, I'm not sure Baal has been much of a threat in recent years.

Actually, that piece of paper probably says, "We The People" followed by the 2nd Amendment.

Mr. 24 carat solid golden (calf) has the US Constitution in his right hand and what looks to be a magic wand with a star on top in his left hand.
His underwear is assembled with pieces of the American flag.
It reminds one of the golden calf that was worshipped against the instructions of God.

(1,910 posts)I say good, lets link them all to Trump. He motivates their base but he motivates Dems and Independents even more. Suburbanites are terrified of Trumpism. We will have record fund raising and voter turn out in 2022 and 2024 to oppose every Trump backed candidate.
Having Trump the continued public face of the GOP in the 2022 midterms gives the Dems a much better chance of holding the House. Less chance of Dem voters not paying attention and sitting it out.
Lets beat them again and again and again.

(6,820 posts)This pale pink slime is, amazingly, "red meat" to these people. They're tapped into a special stream of shamelessness, ginning up vacuum from a void. Standing on thin ice, Trump dares them to walk a little farther from the shore and they do it. There is and can never be any "dealing" with such thinking.
The good news is how they paint the target onto themselves so clearly. Fish in a barrel for 2022 and 2024 so long as we vote.

(9,981 posts)The media should treat them as cultists in the mold of people like Jones, David Koresh, the Moonies, even Charles Manson whose followers committed several murders. From Wikipedia: The prosecution contended that, while Manson never directly ordered the murders, his ideology constituted an overt act of conspiracy. Sound familiar? Trump never actually ordered his followers to attack the Capitol and commit murder, yet they did to please him and because they knew that is what he wanted. Now Trump has turned the entire Republican Party into his personal worshipers. When will the media stop treating this as politics instead of the dangerous instability it is?

(36,053 posts)He shipped it to Tampa, then Orlando. CPAC kinda accepted its presence in good humor. The artist has said that he is hoping to sell it, or at least maybe get the trump library to buy it.
While trumpcult might hang with FMF45 and the big lie, this one tawdry fiberglass statue isn't their symbol. At least not yet. It's more like our side's symbol for them.
The point is, we need to be careful to see them the way they see themselves, not the way we want to see them. It's not for nothing to note the difference between harmful exploited -- believers of the Big Lie -- and harmful exploiters among them -- the perpetuators of the Big Lie and their funders.

(14,572 posts)because of gerrymandering, and other voter suppression, the dirtbag traitor McCarthy has 'bet his house' that the Trumpists will pick up six seats in the House and regain the majority before a single vote is cast.
Now, I hate, just hate, to believe this, so we need to focus on stopping this.

(1,910 posts)The drawing of the 2022 districts will give Repugs their best chance at success. The Senate cycle will be tougher for them and the 2024 Presidential election is going to be very tough for them.
So their last gasp at any power looks to be the 2022 House. We must fight and channel Stacey Abrams everywhere possible.
Bottom line is if Dems can somehow hold on to the House in 2022 it will really cause the Repugs to turn on each other and that is good for all of us.
2022 House has to be in our laser focus.

(3,389 posts)This book should be a must-read in high school, and then again in College.
He also has other books that are as good as "It Can't Happen Here", I also recommend "Arrowsmith", it shows the corruption of the medical industry, and of course "Babbit". Lewis saw beyond his time, and in "It Can't Happen Here" he saw what we are living today, we are just very lucky that it has not happened all the way as he envisioned.
Another great American author is Kurt Vonnegut, everyone must read "The Cat's Cradle", an essay on human stupidity. It is funny, interesting and it depicts how stupid we humans are, how we lack a sense of consequences, and how we never think through before we act.
My motto to my kids is always "Think Before You Act" because "Every Action Has Consequences", these can be good or bad, but consequences nonetheless.
Thank you for bringing it up. It can be found on the internet and read for free at this link:

(3,389 posts)they must use it.
All we can do is try to open family and friends' eyes who also worship the buffoon.
It is not easy, for someone to worship such a despicable being says a lot about them, they are part of a cult, they don't listen, they don't see, but our job is to do our best to open their eyes.
