Obviously there's still a lot of work to be done to combat Covid but the fact that the national conversation has changed to the possibility that there's light at the end of the tunnel is huge 180 from where we were last fall with this thing. Leadership matters.

(27,436 posts)The Biden team has done a remarkable job pulling all the players together, getting them to focus on goals, laying out a distribution plan and getting the shots in the arms of American citizens.

(89,129 posts)And the progress we're seeing begets a more upbeat mood for the country. As people see things improving, even just little by little, it will only help the national psyche, and build on Biden's public opinion polls. He's likely to get more people on his side as time goes on, as he continues to go on the air and level with America on the issues, keep us updated, and give us pep talks to keep our spirits up. This, meanwhile, as more people get vaccinated and winter thaws and stores and schools and other venues slowly start reopening.
And hopefully our Dems go overboard reminding voters next year who had their backs, and who voted to send help - to get them through the pandemic and back on their feet. THAT'S a message that doesn't just bear repeating. It DEMANDS repeating.
