Sarah Everard. #MeToo Australia. Atlanta. VAWA. OneBillionRising. All of these relate to violence

against women, and the efforts to eliminate, or excuse, this culturally-embedded violence. Why was Sarah walking at night. The women tempted him. All the f'n excuses made to excuse male violence against women. This includes the hysterical screaming and heels-dug-in effort to close the "boyfriend" loophole in VAWA, along with the fact that it is even a fight to reauthorize it! OneBillionRising stands for the ONE IN THREE women (roughly three billion women on the planet) who will be a victim of sexual/physical violence in her lifetime. ONE IN THREE!!!! Not to mention CEDAW, the UN effort to eradicate gender violence, to which the US is STILL not signatory (f*** you conservatives male senators!).

So the question is, how in the f'n HELL do we do this? What is it going to take to make it a world-wide consciousness that women and girls are NOT objects to be beaten, tortured, enslaved, trafficked, killed? What is it going to take to see women and girls as actual living, breathing human beings???

I used to think, in my much-younger, naive days, that education would help. But we don't have that kind of time. As a stop-gap, do we train every female on the planet to martial arts black belt level? Will knowing that any female they approach with intent to harm can beat the living s***out of them make these woman-hating pricks stop for even a second?

WHAT is it going to take????? Any ideas? Helpful suggestions?

(This is not even taking into account the hundreds of pieces of woman-hating anti-choice legislation across the country and around the world.)

If anybody can post the Sandy and ?Richard Riccardi song on YouTube "Boys Will Be. . ." I thank you in advance.
