Derek Chauvin's soon to be ex wife is a Laotian refugee.

Fortunately for Kellie Chauvin, she had no children with him.

Kellie said: “Under that uniform, he’s just a softie. He's such a gentleman.
"He still opens the door for me, still puts my coat on for me.

"After my [previous] divorce, I had a list of must-haves if I were ever to be in a relationship, and he fit all of them."

Either she’s the queen of denial or he’s as good at hiding his dark side as the BTK murderer was. Or both.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find out he beat her.

3. She's trained and has worked as a radiologist, but now she's an unemployed realtor?

In the world I worked in, a radiologist is a physician. I wonder if she's actually what we would call a radiology technician. Since it's an article from The Sun, the British might refer to that job as a radiologist.

Regardless, that sure seems that job would be a more consistent and reliable income provider than real estate.

But don't have the $$ or language skills to master the certification exams here in the US.

6. True - the article doesn't say how old she was when she arrived in the States

It just kind of read (to me, at least) like she's very language acclimated since she's working as a translator at hospitals. I guess I assumed she's been here for quite a while and worked in some capacity in a radiology dept.

Real Estate is rough, right now. I heard on a NPR show that the 'inventory' is very low. Kind of makes me think I should finish up the upgrades on my house, sell it and move to a smaller place.

I don't blame her for keeping her mouth shut. She probably learned all about that a long time ago.

8. Derek Chauvin was there for 17 years

"Chauvin was our off-duty police for almost the entirety of the 17 years that we were open," Santamaria told KSTP. "They were working together at the same time, it's just that Chauvin worked outside and the security guards were inside."
