ZOMBIE LAW 2012: New Hampshire House Passes “Right-to-Work” For Government Employees

http://wepartypatriots.com/wp/2012/01/11/zombie-law-2012-nh-house-passes-rtw-for-government-employees/

The New Hampshire GOP is heading down the long road to “Right-to-Work” once more, this time looking to enact the anti-worker legislation on government employees.

The NH House voted 212-128 in favor of “Right-to-Work” this week. The bill will now go to the state Senate. If passed, it is likely to be vetoed by Democratic Governor John Lynch who vetoed the broader “Right-to-Work” bill last year. This version would prevent the State Employees Association from automatically collecting dues from state employees who don’t join the union but enjoy the protections of it:

…a state employee could opt out of the union and also refuse to pay the lesser, non-membership fee as long as they relinquished all benefits the union had negotiated.

“State employees should not be forced to pay for the support of a union they may or may not agree with,” said Rep. Carol McGuire, a Republican from Epsom.

State employees who do not join the union now must pay 59 percent of the union dues to cover the cost of negotiating the state employee contract.

Adding fuel to the fire in the Granite State are Republican Presidential Candidates Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Jon Huntsman who spoke on Sunday’s Meet The Press about a need for a federal “Right-to-Work” law. In joining the conservative cacophony, Huntsman in particular has relinquished his ‘moderate outsider’ wares for run-of-the-mill Right Wing sheep’s clothing.

"I don't want to pay union dues, but I want a union job". Another attempt by repugs to defund their enemies. Funny how repugs think we should have a federal, phony "right to work" law. I thought they believed in states' rights. Makes my head spin.
