The REAL elephant in the room at any Republican gathering? They are a steadily shrinking

minority party whose titular head at present is psychopathic narcissist who demands unconditional obedience and has neither shame or respect for our laws, customs and traditions.

If they remain in the court of Dear Leader, they must abandon decency, self respect and loyalty to wives, children and lifelong friends if it ever conflicts with his need of the moment. The bus they may temporarily be permitted to ride on has left its tire tracks on virtually everyone who preceded them.

They screw up brave faces and do their best to smile each time he looks their way, but----

---nothing ever gets better. That damned elephant is still there sucking in all the oxygen in the room.

The legislative branch still has far more power than the population differences would give them. It will take many years to exorcize our government of these demons, and they will fight & lie & gerrymander the whole time.

We need HR1 to fix this!

the 3/5ths compromise, the EC, and the Senate are all indicators of this. All of that was to protect the white land-owning power of the South from being run over by the industrial and higher population North. Yes in the 1780s and 90s they knew the Industrial Revolution was coming and planned for it.

Don't forget, progressive majorities are concentrated in half a dozen cities...

In fact, in 2016 if you discount the votes of LA County alone, Trump won the nationwide popular vote.

they have a good chance of taking back Congress in 2022 and the Presidency in 2024. Because they play the win elections game better than the Dems. And they cheat.
