What it takes for Democratic candidates to win ...

For a Republican candidate to win, he has to get more votes, then the Democratic opponent concedes, then the election result is certified, then the Republican winner is sworn into office.

For a Democratic candidate to win, it's a lot more complicated. First he has to get more votes, then wait for the Republican to concede, which never happens. Then the Democrat has to fend off dozens of frivolous court challenges. When none of those legal challenges are successful, then the Democrat has to weather numerous attempts by the Republican candidate to persuade Republican state legislators to overturn the result in their state. When that doesn't work, the Democrat has to hold his breath while frenzied supporters of the Republican candidate storm the capitol building in an attempt to stop the counting and certifying of the votes, and also seeking the government officials who are participating in that certification intending to murder them. When that riotous mob is not successful in those endeavors, the Democratic candidate has to continue holding his breath while the capitol and inauguration site are thoroughly fortified against further riotous attempts leading up to and during the inauguration itself. Then, finally, the Democrat is sworn into office.

But it's not over even then. The Republican candidate and his frenzied supporters in state legislatures across the country start passing laws attempting to prevent the Democrat's supporters from ever daring to vote for a Democrat again, and providing harsh legal penalties for doing anything to facilitate that in any way. And in the meantime, they continue to challenge the result of the recent election in various ways, such as endless recounts and audits of the election results, months after the election is over and certified.

It's a lot easier and simpler for a Republican to win than it is for a Democrat. And when the Republican wins, it's over. When the Democrat wins, it never ends ...
