(89 posts)The first prosecutions, for the ones only guilty of lesser crimes like trespassing, should start around October this year, followed by prosecutions of more culpable individuals and culminating in prosecutions of those clearly guilty of the most serious of crimes, including insurrection, and beginning in early September, 2022. This last group should include, if the investigators can identify them, all of those who incited, coordinated and financed the insurrection including "Individual One".
This will remind all of those with short term attention spans of what electing Republicans can mean for the health of our democracy.

(11,573 posts)We had high hopes of getting some pictures of the historical institutions around DC, and soaking up some of the history. When we arrived at the Capitol, we were dismayed to see the long lines of people waiting to do the same.
It soon became apparent that we'd be there for hours if we persisted, so we reluctantly left the place to the festive throng that was there to celebrate such an historic and beautiful place. Enthusiastic crowds were certainly not the fault of the venue, so we had to temper our disappointment, and still rated the abbreviated tour a 7/10.
