BREAKING: McConnell opposes bill creating bipartisan commission to examine Jan. 6 Capitol attack

McConnell comes out against Jan. 6 commission, imperiling its chances of becoming law

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Wednesday that he will oppose legislation to create a commission tasked with investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol — a signal that the legislation will not have the votes to get through the Senate.

“After careful consideration. I’ve made the decision to oppose the House Democrats slanted and unbalanced proposal for another commission to study the events of January the 6th,” he said on the Senate floor.

McConnell shared his views earlier this morning with his colleagues at a Republican senators’ breakfast hosted by Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), who is helping to lead a Senate investigation into the events of Jan. 6 and has vocally opposed a commission, according to a Republican aide who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the private discussions.

McConnell’s opposition came after he told reporters Tuesday that Senate Republicans were “undecided” about the commission and that they wanted to “read the fine print.”

Dems reached out to Pukes, incorporated their requirements into the proposal, and now they snatch the football away. We've seen this cartoon before.

The hypocrisy is blatant, unapologetic, and unsurprising.

If they didn't have their 24/7 propaganda machine, they couldn't fool some of the people all of the time.

Now, unleash hell.

I want 15 Democrat led committees to begin round the clock hearings.
I want to see them all - McConnell, McCarthy, Gaetz, Gohmert, Rubio, Cruz, Hawley - marched in for 11 hours of continual hearings, one after the other.

I don't give a flying fuck about "bipartisan" investigations - get it ALL out in the open regarding 6-Jan-2021 and let the chips fall where they will.

I fear nothing implicating the Biden White House or the Democratic Party in any of it, so bring it on.
(oh - and fuck your 'what-aboutisms' too)

Bring the bill to the floor as is.

Make clear if it does not pass, a special counsel will be appointed, a grand jury empaneled, and criminal referrals made for disregard of any subpoena.

Then if it does not pass, follow through. Keep that booger before the grand jury for weeks, and tally up the perjury counts.

Do not fuck around.
