My son and daughter-in-law both have free chargers at their places of work, a nice perk.

And god forbid a rock from the truck in front of you suddenly had small rocks going all over the place. It’s bad enough with a windshield cracked, but now possible solar panels?

If you are parking in the sun all day at work or at home you would gain a good pile of KWs. Rocks from a truck would probably not bother the horizontal on roof panels as much as the windshield. Have to say, I never had a broken windshield from rocks from a truck in my 57 years of driving. Solar panels aren't glass but rather plastic like and wouldn't shatter but might get damaged so the circuits were broken....worse case.
