#SeditionHunters - Thursdays arrest of Alan Hostetter highlighted extremism in Orange County, CA, but even he is junior-league. We knew OC would send their finest, and here he is, the highest-profile #SeditionVIP yet: former U.S. Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA 42). 1/
Not surprised. Was this reported previously?

(11,341 posts)hoping it doesn't need explanation - but attending the rally is different on several levels than storming the Capital.

(16,754 posts)will never forget (that the media suppressed). Attended one in DC that there was between 300,000 and 400,000. Only C-Span covered.
It's been a long slog since the Supremes stole it in 2000 at behest of Jim Baker and Bushes. Bolton, Stone bangin' on the glass to stop the recount. Haven't recovered from that travesty which laid the groundwork for the orange one (unitary executive, Constitution irrelevant, we create our own reality, etc.).

(21,562 posts)Was it in January, 2003, befote the Iraq invasion started? Jesse Jackson as one of the speakers? If so, I was there, too. The media that did report it said there were 10s of thousands present. Media went all out in supporting and promoting that war before it even began.

(16,754 posts)Showed me how easily you can warp the message and people will follow. To this day, I would wager most believe Iraq was responsible for 9-11, if they know that much.

(33,189 posts)For around five months as these assholes are dragged in one-by-one.
You know what I haven't seen since that were quite prominent in the real time coverage?
The white nationalist and para-nazi symbology. I know I saw it scattered all over the place. There were flags and etcetera. Granted, not as much as the Trump drag, but, a significant amount.
I have yet to see any in the evidence photos. Even in the background. The confederate symbology is also fading.
Anyone else see this going on?
Ive noticed. Its being memory holed right before our eyes

(269,157 posts)KIEV, Ukraine A month before Donald Trump clinched the Republican nomination, one of his closest allies in Congress House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy made a politically explosive assertion in a private conversation on Capitol Hill with his fellow GOP leaders: that Trump could be the beneficiary of payments from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Theres two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump, McCarthy (R-Calif.) said, according to a recording of the June 15, 2016, exchange, which was listened to and verified by The Washington Post. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher is a Californian Republican known in Congress as a fervent defender of Putin and Russia.

(58,785 posts)Fwiw, most of the thousands who walked to the Capitol were not violent and did not attack it. Many left in alarm when the animal roar of the mob started.
Btw, just saw that he and his wife moved to York, Maine after his district gave him the heave-ho, and they've recently gotten involved in local Repubilcan politics, in the background.
They're photo and press averse (wonder why?), but this may be from December 2020.

(28,810 posts)it may not be surprising when i mention that my lost brother lived in OC for 30 or 40 years. Apparently there's only one so-called news channel there (fox).
he and his wife retired to OR but their viewing habits traveled with them. They could be Q by now for all I know; my younger brother visited them and had to leave after 2 days. This was a few months ago. In the house it was Fox, in the car it was Limbaugh.
very sad to me. i love these people and cannot stand them.
