Judge grants DOJ's request to temporarily block release of Trump obstruction memo

A federal judge on Monday granted the Justice Department's request to temporarily block the release of an internal legal memo prepared in response to the Mueller report in 2019.

District Judge Amy Berman Jackson agreed to stay her order for the document's release while the Biden administration appeals.

Jackson said in a nine-page decision that while she still disagrees with the Justice Department's arguments against the memo's release, she believes that it shouldn't be prematurely unredacted before the department has an opportunity to make its case to an appeals court.

protecting Trump? A lot more transparency at DOJ is needed not more cover ups.

There are numerous reasons they're taking the position they're taking - most of which have nothing to do with protecting Trump and everything to do with making sure the investigations can proceed unhindered and result in successful prosecutions and convictions.

Given that, I just don't understand why some Democrats insist on jumping to the most negative conclusion - the conclusion that requires one to believe that President Biden and Merrick Garland are stupid, naive, and/or corrupt.

If she thought there was even a hint of a cover-up or complicity, she'd throw the book at the department.

in that it might relate to ongoing investigations. Let's hold off on the hissy fits until we see what the court of appeals does.

It might help to actually read the court documents and make an effort to understand what's actually going on, which has nothing to do with protecting TFG or Putin. It has to do with, you know, the law.

Where in Judge Jackson's order does she selectively use the law against Democrats and for Trump's and Putin's benefit?

Please be specific in cite the language you're relying on. Of course that means you'll have to actually read the opinion, but we can wait...

in which she explains why she (narrowly) gave the DoJ the temporary benefit of the doubt when she granted the stay of the order releasing the memo pending appeal.
