As he continues to move at a historic pace with respect to judicial nominees, the President is announcing five new candidates for the federal bench and two new candidates for District of Columbia courts, all of whom are extraordinarily qualified, experienced, and devoted to the rule of law and our Constitution.

Because Mitch McConnell spent four years in the Senate doing virtually nothing but confirming judicial nominees, Biden wont be able to restore balance and swing the courts back in four years. However, he is quickly moving to diversify the judiciary and set the stage for a wipeout of McConnell and Trumps court-packing in a potential second term.
President Biden isnt wasting time, as he is moving to undo the damage done to the federal judiciary by Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. - PoliticusUSA
Sounds like that's a challenge to democratic voters; if you want the courts restored, give me 4 more years. While you're at it, give me more democratic senators to get our agenda through their partisan stonewalling! That's assuming McConnell manages to live another three years.

(16,862 posts)The Trump nominations to the USSC were such a blow; I'm glad Biden is working toward restoring some balance to the federal courts, even if there's nothing we can do about the Supreme Court right now. Hopefully Biden will serve two terms and the Senate will stay in Democratic hands.

(12,488 posts)Biden has named NINE Judges by June 15, well ahead of recent counts by Trump, Obama, Bushes, Clinton and Reagan.
Unfortunately, Trump and McConnell nearly emptied the vacancy list so no one expects Biden to hit the kind of numbers than Obama and Trump hit in their first terms.
